The first batch distribution of palliatives comprising food items, cash and coronavirus preventive medical items such as hand sanitizer in the four local government areas of Uyo Federal Constituency, by the lawmaker representing the constituency in the national assembly, Michael Enyong, popularly called Baba Ntan has been rounded off. A total of 500 beneficiaries benefited from the gesture in the first batch
Represented by a former Commissioner for Science and Technology, Samuel Effanga, the lawmaker who started the donations with Uyo Local Government Area on Monday, extended same to Ibesikpo Asutan, Nsit Atai and Uruan Local Government areas.
Accompanied by Director General of Odudu-Abasi Campaign Organization, Otue-kong Uduak Ekpewo, Effanga said the Uyo lawmaker also advised the people on the need to observe basic respiratory hygiene as well as maintain social distancing, while adhering to the cessation of movement directive of the Akwa Ibom state government in order to contain spread of the disease in the state
In Ibesikpo Asutan, Prince Uwem Ita Etuk as well as former Transition Chairman of the local government area, Ita Udoh-mbon, and other stakeholders from the area were in attendance, while in Nsit Atai and Uruan Local government areas, stakeholders including Monday Sampson and Engr. Godwin Ntete spoke in glowing terms about Enyong’s gesture.

Our correspondent Anthony Esin reports that the lawmaker also gave special relief package of ten thousand naira each and food items to persons including elders, women and youths in his hometown, Nnung Obio Enang, Idoro in Uyo Local Government Area.
