The Federal Government through the Office of the Auditor General for the Federation, has indicted the management of the National Assembly and the National Assembly Service commission in a yet-to-be explained nine point four two four billion expenditure in 2019.
Of the amount, the Senate spent 3.595 billion while the House Of Representatives got 5.521 billion. similarly, the National Assembly Service Commission spent 307.676 Million Naira.
The revelations were contained in 7 audit queries issued to the Senate, and 5 similar queries to the house and 2 audit queries to the commission by the Office of the Auditor General for the Federation signed by the Auditor General of the Federation, Adolphus Aghughu.
The report further stated that the sum of 258 Million Naira was paid to fifty nine staff of the house just as 107.912 million Naira was given to two staff for repairs and maintenance of unspecified residential quarters, denying government of the statutory vat and witholding tax accruable if the work had been awarded to contractors.
