The Member representing Uyo/Uruan/Nsit Atai/Ibesikpo Asutan Federal Constituency in the national assembly, Michael Enyong, has doled out the sum of N1 million each to eight constituents drawn from Uyo, Uruan, Nsit Atai and Ibesikpo Asutan in his avowed commitment to change the fortunes of his constituents and further pursue his target of making at least 300 persons from the federal constituency millionaires.
Enyong who also empowered a total of 252 women with financial grants of 20,000 naira each to help boost their businesses and cater for their needs, said he did that in fulfillment of his campaign promises to raise the standard of living of his people.
Noting that the presentation of cheques and cash gifts was one of the numerous ways he is initiating to reach out to all the constituents in order to better their lives, Enyong urged the beneficiaries to use the money judiciously.
The Uyo born politician and philanthropist reassured the people that he will not disappoint them and will at all times live up to expectations, maintaining that the era of poverty is dead and gone in the area.
Our correspondent Anthony Esin reports that the Chairman House Committee on Solid Minerals who made the presentation during an Empowerment Programme organized by the Federal Constituency in Collaboration with the National Human Rights Commission in Uyo, the state capital, further advised the youths of Uyo Federal Constituency to shun violence and embrace entrepreneurship and peace, which he said is the bedrock of financial growth and eradication of poverty
