The Minister of Niger delta affairs, Godswill Akpabio has resigned from the cabinet of the President, Muhammadu Buhari.
This was disclosed in a statement released by his aide, Jackson Udom. Also, the Minister of state for Education, Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba has also resigned to pursue presidential ambition and the Minister of science and technology, Ogbonnaya Onu.

Recall that President Buhari had reportedly directed that all members of his cabinet and appointees vying for electoral offices resign on or before May 16. The order was announced during the Federal Executive Council meeting and presided over by the President at the Council Chambers of the State House, Abuja.
However, Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige, has said that he is not in a hurry to resign from his appointment as he has to consult with President Muhamadu Buhari and his constituents before tendering his resignation letter.
