President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Governor Chukwuma Soludo on his re-election as the Governor of Anambra State, describing the victory as a reflection of his visionary and result-driven leadership.
Soludo secured a landslide win, taking all 21 local government areas in the election, according to results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday. The victory makes him the third governor in Anambra’s history to win a second term in office.
In a statement personally signed by the President, Tinubu said Soludo’s re-election underscores the governor’s dedication to good governance and the remarkable progress achieved under his administration.
“Governor Soludo, the Solution, has shown that knowledge is power, and that academic excellence can be effectively applied in governance—anchored on accountability, transparency, and prudent management of resources,” Tinubu said.
Recalling his visit to Anambra in May, where he commissioned several projects executed by the Soludo administration, the President praised the governor’s innovative approach and commitment to development.
“I commend Governor Soludo for bringing discipline, brilliance, and fresh ideas to governance in Anambra. Under him, the state truly lives up to its motto as the Light of the Nation,” he stated.
Tinubu also urged the governor to be magnanimous in victory, seeking unity and cooperation from his opponents, and assured him of federal support and collaboration going forward.
“The victory of the opposition All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) once again demonstrates the strength of our democracy and the fact that credible leadership will always earn the people’s trust,” he added.
The President further commended INEC Chairman Joash Amupitan and his team for conducting what he described as a credible and transparent election, encouraging the commission to maintain and build upon these standards to strengthen Nigeria’s electoral system.
