Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel announces plans to add two new aircrafts to Ibom Air Fleet.

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel has announced that two new aircrafts would soon be added to the Ibom Air Fleet to meet increasing demands by the travelling public.

The Governor, who disclosed this when the leadership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, ICAN, paid him a courtesy visit at Government House, Uyo, added that a taxiway is also being constructed at the state owned Victor Attah International Airport while an Aviation School will also be established for the training of professionals for the aviation sector.

Governor Emmanuel further used the occasion to urge professionals to consider joining politics to help solve some of the problems facing the country. According to him, by joining politics, it would enable them bring their professional acumen in the efficient management of public institutions in the country.

On his part, the Leader of the visiting ICAN Team and a past president of the Institute, Emmanuel Ijewere, had said their visit was part of the regular dialogues between professionals and the different leaderships of the country to ensure the creation of an enabling environment needed for maximizing citizens’ potentials.

Government house correspondent Jane Uwa reports that Ijewere further noted that the Institute has also put strategies in place to promote best practices in Public Financial Management to drive efficiency in resource utilization in the public sector
