Akwa Ibom state governor Udom Emmanuel will on Monday 31st of January 2022 commission the first privately owned television station in the Akwa Cross Region, Spectrum Television, at its transmission station, Ibiaku Uruan.
Revealing the development to Planet News, the Chairman and CEO of TAF Media Group, owners of Planet FM and Spectrum TV, Tony Afia, noted that the visit will be greeted with excitement, as the governor’s efforts in ensuring the state is peaceful is one of the reasons Spectrum TV emerged without hitches.
According to the TAF Media Group chairman, the vision of Spectrum TV is to explore Akwa Ibom, adding that the media group is working assiduously towards massive expansion of the Spectrum TV project – currently broadcasting on Startimes channel 136 – to wider platforms and nationally.
The CEO Afia urged the Media Group’s teeming fans to keep listening and watching Planet FM and Spectrum TV respectively, as developing updates about the governor’s visit and the commissioning of the TV station unfolds.
TAF Media Group commenced official broadcast of Spectrum TV on November 1 2021 as the first privately owned TV station in the Akwa Cross region, having also blazed that same trail almost a decade ago, as the first to unveil a privately owned radio station within the same region.
