The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has rolled over its ongoing strike for another 12 weeks.
This was made known in a statement signed by ASUU president, Prof. Emmanuel Osodeke who said this was to give the government enough time to satisfactorily resolve all the outstanding issues. ASUU also said it took this decision after its National Executive Council (NEC) meeting at the Comrade Festus Iyayi National Secretariat, University of Abuja.
Meanwhile, at the meeting, ASUU reportedly accused the Federal Government of being unserious. ASUU is demanding the release of revitalization funds for universities, renegotiation and implementation of the 2009 FGN/ASUU agreement. According to the statement, the roll-over strike action is with effect from 12.01 a.m. today, 9th May.
