The Board and Management of Planet 101.1FM today distributed relief fund of 5,000 naira each to two hundred select households living below poverty lines, as well as the most vulnerable amongst residents within its host community, as part of its corporate social responsibility to support government in cushioning the effects of COVID-19 on the standard of living of citizens.
The outreach supported hundred households who meet the criteria in Ibiaku Uruan, sixty in Utit Uruan and forty in Eman Uruan. Speaking with Planet News, some of the beneficiaries expressed utmost delight at the gesture.
Asked how much they know about the current pandemic ravaging the world, the people expressed a commendable level of awareness.
In their responses, the General Manager Planet 101.1FM, Sunday Edet, and the Manager, Human Resources, Barrister Imaobong Duru, expressed optimism that the company will continue doing its best in support of vulnerable sects when the need arises.
The distribution of the palliatives to the tune of one million naira was done at the station’s transmission location in Ibiaku Uruan, where government’s directive on social distancing was carried out.
