BBNaija 2019 set to host in Nigeria, as audition begins February 1

The producers of the Africa’s popular reality TV show, BBNaija, have announced that the Big Brother House will be located in Nigeria as the show is set to return for a fourth season. The Chief Executive Officer, John Ugbe who disclosed this at a media briefing held in Lagos said auditions for the show will hold on February 1 and 2 in eight locations across Nigeria, an increase from previous editions. He listed the locations as: Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Calabar, Warri, Ibadan, Benin and Enugu.

Flying Eagles to face Saudi Arabia in international friendly

Nigeria’s Flying Eagles will face their Saudi Arabian counterparts in an international friendly on January 22 in Jeddah. The game is expected to prepare the team ahead of next month’s Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations in Niger Republic. Members of parliament rejects British Prime Minister Theresa May’s Brexit deal

British Prime Minister Theresa May’s Brexit deal has been rejected by 230 votes – the largest defeat for a sitting government in history. Members of Parliaments voted by 432 votes to 202 to reject the deal, which sets out the terms of Britain’s exit from the EU on 29 March. President Buhari launches New Nigerian passport with 10 years validity

President Muhammadu Buhari has launched a new enhanced security Nigerian passport with 10-years validity. The Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Dambazau, assisted by the Comptroller General of Nigeria Immigration Service, Mohammed Babandede, who spoke with state House correspondents noted that apart from the 10-year validity, the passport had an enhanced and self-tracking application. According to the minister, the new passport meets the specifications of the International Civil Aviation Organisation, adding that it is free of charge and is meant for members of the diplomatic corps and is owned for life by serving or former presidents of the country .

The streaming figures of music service Tidal are under investigation in Norway over claims the numbers of listeners to 2016 albums by Beyonce and Kanye West, among others, were inflated. The Norwegian authorities said they would explore whether “someone” had manipulated the figures but did not name any individuals or companies. Tidal’s lawyer said the platform was “not under suspicion in this case”. The company behind Tidal was bought by Beyonce’s husband, Jay-Z, in 2015.
