
Residents Of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State Capital Urge INEC To Make Available Permanent Voter Cards Yet To Be Printed
Residents of Uyo, Akwa Ibom state capital have urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to make available their permanent voter cards that are yet to be printed.
Speaking with planet news, some registered voters complained that they have been to their different wards to collect their PVCs but to no avail, while others disclosed that after two years of waiting for the arrival of their cards, they finally got it. They appealed to INEC to extend the deadline for PVC collection from the current date.
Also speaking, the Head of Voter Education and Publicity, INEC, Akwa Ibom state, Odaro Aisien said that most of the registered voters who could not find their PVCs registered twice during the registration process, therefore, resulting in unavailability of cards.
He also emphasized on the collection of PVCs by registered voters who are yet to collect, stressing that January 29, 2023 is the deadline set for collection of PVCs at the local government levels.

Aisien however disclosed that a mock election will be conducted at the federal level to ascertain the level of preparation for the forthcoming elections.
