Statistics in Canada shows that the consumer price index- CPI rose by 2.8 percent in June, down from 3.4 percent in May, as the rate spiked a year ago in June 2022 to 8.1 percent.

Agency said while deceleration was fairly broad-based, another base-year effect in gasoline prices led the slowdown in the CPI.

Meanwhile Transport Minister Omar Alghabra said Canada’s inflation rate drops to 2.8%, which is lower than most comparable countries in the world.
