The Super Eagles are intensifying preparations ahead of their crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying doubleheader against Rwanda and South Africa.
Team captain William Troost-Ekong has assured fans of the squad’s readiness, stressing the importance of unity and determination as Nigeria battles for a place at the global tournament.
Speaking on NFF TV, the Al-Kholood defender expressed gratitude to supporters, urging them to rally behind the team in Saturday’s clash against Rwanda and next Tuesday’s encounter with South Africa.
“We’re going to be focused on cooperation because I think that’s the thing that’s going to give us confidence for the game on Saturday,” Troost-Ekong said. “The team is determined to secure a positive result against Rwanda, which would boost our chances of qualifying.”
He also called on fans to fill the stands and keep faith with the Eagles: “I want to ask them to continue to encourage us, to be in the stadium on Saturday, to be praying for us, everyone else in Nigeria.”
With fan support, Troost-Ekong said, the Super Eagles are confident of stepping closer to securing their World Cup ticket.
