The 8th Akwa Ibom state House of assembly has led an entourage to their thanksgiving service in commemoration of one successful year since commencement of their legislative duties, in an occasion where speaker, Udeme Otong, on behalf of the legislators reiterated commitment to continually work with the executive arm of government in enacting people oriented legislations that will lead to the success of the ARISE Agenda of governor Umo Eno.
Speaking at the thanksgiving service held at Qua Iboe church Ewet, Elder Otong recounted the favours of God in the lives of the legislators while discharging their legislative duties, and thanked the people of Akwa Ibom who found them worthy to serve.
The speaker who praised the crop of intellectuals that he said make up the 8th assembly, also enumerated the successes of the state legislature in one year and reiterated continued commitment to top notch legislation and cordial, harmonious relationship with the executive.
The thanksgiving service culminated in a reception held at the Akwa Ibom state House of assembly grounds.
Meanwhile, the Akwa Ibom state Governor Pastor Umo Eno has charged the state House of assembly to continue in the trajectory of gratitude with the lawmakers individually taking their respective one year thanksgiving trains to their constituencies where the locals who voted them into power will be able to effectively share the joys of their successes.
Speaking at the thanksgiving service by the 8th assembly, the state Governor noted that he is very interested in the grassroots, and with the lawmakers going to thank God in their respective constituencies, it will afford their constituents the opportunity to be a part of their activities in the past one year.
The Governor who thanked the 8th assembly for their cooperation, sued for continued support for his government to succeed and noted that he will continually place investing in human capital development above prioritizing the much talked about legacy project. According to him, his own legacy project would be enabling his people achieve their dreams, goals and aspirations.
The governor made a commitment to continue supporting excellence, as long as it is within the abilities of government.
