Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel, says the new ultra-modern Asan Ibibio complex will serve as a center of unity for the Ibibio People of the state.
Governor Emmanuel who stated this while inaugurating the Asan Ibibio complex, located at Ikot Oku Ikono, Uyo Local Government Area of the State, charged Traditional Rulers of Ibibio Nation to lay to rest all misunderstandings and work together to utilize the facility which he said would serve as a rallying point for all Akwa Ibom people, irrespective of their ethnic backgrounds.
Governor Emmanuel, who handed over the edifice to the Oku Ibom Ibibio for proper management and onward transmission, charged them on effective maintenance of the facility.
In his remarks, the President General, Akwa Ibom State Traditional Rulers’ Council and Oku Ibom Ibibio, Ntenyin Solomon Etuk, thanked Governor Udom Emmanuel for completing the project. The Monarch charged the people of the state to unite and work for the progress and development of the state.
Government House correspondent Jane Uwa reports that the event which attracted different Ibibio social cultural groups and other ethnic groups with a wide array of different traditional dance troupes, also witnessed goodwill messages from the people who all commended Governor Emmanuel for his result-oriented leadership style.
