A total of nine generals in the Nigerian Army have retired from service.

The generals, who are from the finance corps of the service, are  Major General A. Adetayo, Major General J. Jakko, Major General A. Bakare, Major General A. Adamu, Brigadier General N. Isama, Brigadier General O. Ohunyeye, Brigadier General O. Adenuga, and Brigadier General II Adamu.

However, the retirement of the nine generals comes less than a month after 113 generals bowed out of the Nigerian Army on December 19, 2023. A statement by the Director, Army Public Relations,  Major General Onyema Nwachukwu said a passing-out parade was held in honour of the senior officers on Friday.

Meanwhile, the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, assured that the troops’ welfare and well-being remain his priority urging the troops to be on the lookout as more efforts to improve the standards of living and their accommodation across Nigerian Army’s barracks and cantonment would become visible in the new year.
