The Independent National Electoral Commission- INEC has ordered four directors to proceed with retirement.
The order followed the circular on the eight-year tenure policy for directors in the public service.
This was contained in a statement signed by the National Commissioner and Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee, INEC, Sam Olumekun.
According to the statement, Olumekun did not give the names of the four affected directors. He, however, noted that while two of them served as heads of department at the commission headquarters in Abuja, the other two served as administrative secretaries in the states. Olumekun further stated that those in the medical cadre were exempted from the directive.
