Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has criticized President Bola Tinubu’s administration, declaring it worse than any military regime in Nigeria’s history.
El-Rufai made the statement while speaking at a recent forum, expressing deep concern over the direction of governance under Tinubu’s leadership. He accused the administration of exhibiting authoritarian tendencies, economic mismanagement, and a lack of clear policy direction — issues he claimed were more pronounced than during previous military governments.
He stated, “What we are seeing today is unprecedented. Even under military rule, things were not this chaotic. There was at least a sense of discipline and direction. Today, we are witnessing economic hardship, policy somersaults, and suppression of dissent.”
El-Rufai’s comments come amid growing public discontent over rising inflation, the weakening naira, fuel subsidy removal, and general insecurity, all of which have intensified pressure on the Tinubu-led government.
The presidency has yet to issue an official response to El-Rufai’s remarks.
